In 2019, Hassad developed the central markets in strategic locations across the country, with the aim of creating integrated marketing platforms, to satisfy the needs of traders, producers and consumers, as well as support achieving food security objectives. Accordingly, Hassad established Aswaq for Food Facilities Management Company, as a subsidiary tasked with managing the central markets.

A’SAILIYA CENTRAL MARKET

Located in a central site around 25 minutes away from the heart of Doha. The central market spans over 78,000m2 and includes several connected and air-conditioned sections. Including retail, wholesale and traditional markets, as well as, an auction area, cold stores, a hypermarket and other
service shops.

UM SALAL CENTRAL MARKET

Spans over 60,000m2, the market is located at the intersection of modern and central highways (Al Majd and Al Shamal), which links the market directly to the
main ports of Al Wakrah, Al Ruwais, Al Khor and Doha.

The central market includes: fish market, auction hall, ice factory, slaughterhouse, barns, service shops, cold stores, supermarket and administrative offices.

AL WAKRA CENTRAL MARKET

Spans on a land area of approximately 230,000m2, the central market is an integrated marketing platform located in the midpoint of central road networks.

The market is divided into several sections: barns, automated slaughterhouse, auction area, shops, hypermarket, service shops and administrative offices.

CAMEL MARKET

Located in Abu Nakhla, the camel market is an integrated platform that spans over 70,000m2. Hassad developed the market to serve the needs of camel owners and the camel-trading sector.

The central market includes:camel barns, auction area, slaughterhouse, fodder and other services shops as well as a Majlis.
